Watublapi Village Encounter (Half Day)
Half an hour drive uphill to Watublapi hamlet. Take part in the traditional welcome ceremony, while women perform their traditional dances accompanied by men beating "gong waning", a local musical instrument. See women demonstrating the way they design and handcraft motifs for ikat weavings using natural coloring.
You will enjoy local dishes such as chicken cooked in coconut milk, mixed vegetables of maniok leaf and papaya flowers served with red rice mixed with green peas and "arak", local alcoholic drink brewed from palm juice.
From here we trek for just five minutes up to Wolonbliran Hill to enjoy a superb view of Flores Sea with tiny islands beyond in the north and Sawu Sea in the south with hills and mountains standing majestically in the near distance. Our way back we take the way through Hewokloang, the traditional village. Stop along the way to take a short walk at the points of interest.
Village Encounter (ganztägig): Traditional markets and villages in Maumere and Sikka district
In the morning we will visit the traditional local market in Kewapante, then drive to Watublapi a traditional village in the hills where we can enjoy traditional dances and Ikat weaving demonstration.
Lunch will be served in Watublapi or in Sea World Club Hotel.
In the afternonn we will visit the Bikon Blewut Anthropological Museum in Ledalero the traditional Sikka village on the south coast with the 150 year old portuguese church.
