Maumere - Kelimutu - Riung - Bajawa/Bena - Maumere (5 days/4 Nights)
Day 01 : Sea World Club - Moni
After breakfast we drive to Ledalero to visit the Bikon Blewut Anthropological Museum, then we continue our trip, stopping along the way for short walks in place of interest for sightseeing and snapshots and also with a brief stop at Jopu, to visit a traditional house.
Lunch, Dinner and accommodation are in Moni.
Day 02: Moni - Kelimutu - Riung
We get up early in the morning and our destination is the renowned and unique Kelimutu National Park. From Moni our vehicle ascends the steep sealed road to a point within a short walking distance of the lookout at Kelimutu, at an altitude of 1690 meters above sea level.
From Kelimutu, we descend to the Hotel for breakfast, and than continue our trip to Riung, with a stop at fruit market of Nduaria on the roadside. Lunch is at a local restaurant in Ende.
After Lunch, we drive westward, following the coast until Aegela, where we take the road to Riung on north coast of Flores. On the way, you can enjoy the scenic beauty of the landscape.
Dinner and accommodation are at Pondok SVD, a Missionary Guest House in Riung.
Day 03: Riung /Seventeen Islands National Park
After breakfast, we go by wooden motorboat to a nearby island. Relax on the pristine beach. Riung is one of only few places in Flores with access to white sand beaches. The area of Riung makes up a national park called Pulau Tujuh Belas (Seventeen Islands). Some of the islands are just rocks sticking out of the sea but the large ones are hilly and fringed with mangroves, where we will see thousands of flying foxes hanging in colonies in the mangrove trees.
After a relaxing day spend on the beach with picnic lunch and snorkelling we return in the afternoon to Riung. Dinner and accommodation in Pondok SVD.
Day 04: Riung - Soa - Bajawa
After breakfast we go to Bajawa, the major center of Ngada District. We stop at Soa Hot Spring, where we can bath in the pool.
Dinner and accommodation is Bajawa.
Day 05: Bajawa - Bena - Maumere
After early breakfast, we take a short detour to Bena, one of the most traditional villages in Ngada District. The village consist of two rows of centuries - old high thatched houses along a ridge. In the center you can see cult houses and much older stone monuments formerly used for ritual sacrifices in the ancient local religion. The local Christian people still use this historic protected site for worship.
Then we drive to Ende with stop at Penggajawa to observe the colored stones along turquoise, green even red, and they are prized by local people.
Lunch will be served in Ende. In the afternoon we drive to Wolotopo to see the traditional house. Then, we drive back to Sea World Club near Maumere.
